Brother Knights and Families:
As I write this, I am preparing for our annual state convention. I have had the privilege to attend a great number of our conventions, as a Delegate and Grand Knight, as a District Deputy and Conferring Officer, and as a Field Agent. My wife and I have truly enjoyed every one. The friends we have made and the relationships we reconnect with every year are genuine and refreshing.
"I pray that the spirit of our convention flow back to all of you from the delegates of the council."
Of course there is work to achieve, as well, and the strength of our order is so obvious as you sit amongst the delegates and families and review the accomplishments of the past fraternal year. The essence of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism abound. I pray that the spirit of our convention flow back to all of you from the delegates of the council.
This month I encourage everyone to go to the KC website (www.kofc.org) and watch the “Supreme Knight’s message to State Conventions.” What a powerful report for the accomplishments of our order.
Carl Anderson recounts in the May issue of Columbia magazine that each of is truly are “My Brother’s Keeper,” and as the leader of our insurance program he reminds us that “Charity and Unity, not Selfishness and relativism, provide the basis for economic stability.” May’s Columbia magazine was dedicated to the accomplishments of the orders insurance program. It recounts the strength and stability that has made our program one of the top-rated programs in North America. It also reminds us of the mission Fr. McGivney had—his motivation for starting the order—and how we strive in every aspect of the order to accomplish this mission that Fr. McGivney put out there for us. Vivat Jesus.
