would like all to welcome the new members of our council recently received into the 1st degree at our September council meeting: Dennis Wintheiser, John Meilahn, Travis Dahlheimer, and Max Johnson. Also a welcome back to Jeremy Rohr and Peter Bruley, who have re-joined the Knights of Columbus. We all look forward to the contributions of these new members of our council. The council officers this year have a goal of achieving good council growth through recruiting new members, and each of you can help out, simply by asking one of your friends who is not a Knight to become one.
October is the month dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, especially through dedication to the Rosary. In the busyness of life today, we have less and less time for quiet meditation, and the reality is that in the noise we can’t hear God. The rosary is a great way to mediate on the life of Jesus and Mary, and by applying this to your life, you will become more open to God’s plan for you and you will advance on the journey to holiness.
If you already pray the rosary, offer it this month for a greater devotion to those who are in need of this. If you haven’t prayed the rosary lately, this month would be a good time to take it up and try it again. Remember – in your 1st degree, you were asked to make a promise to yourself to carry a rosary and pray it as often as you can.
